Mina’s Lunch

The Asian Impact Society held a story submission contest in 2022 for the public to tell their stories of anti-Asian discrimination with the goal of turning one winning story into a children’s book. I helped edit the winning submission by Stephanie Shieh, then illustrated her story to create a beautiful book for school-aged children, Mina’s Lunch.

Mina’s Lunch explores important themes of cultural diversity, a child’s emerging sense of self, and figuring out where they belong in our multicultural world.

You can borrow Mina’s Lunch at the Port Moody Library or buy a copy from the Asian Impact Society. School libraries within School District 43 should all have copies for students.
